Motorcyclist Dies in Pioneer Highway Crash in Stanwood

Stanwood, WA – The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit (CIU)  responded to single-motorcycle fatal crash in the 23000 block of Pioneer Highway in Stanwood around 4:20 p.m. on April 13th, 2020.

According to Deputies, around  4:20 p.m. a motorcycle lost control, left the roadway and crashed. The driver, a 55 year-old Snohomish woman, died at the scene.

CIU detectives are  working to determine the cause of the crash. The female had been out riding with a group of friends all afternoon and it is unknown what led to the crash. Detectives do not believe speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.

Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
