Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal, single vehicle rollover crash on Southbound I-5 around 5:10 p.m. near the Stilly River Bridge in Arlington on July 31st 2020.
According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 35-year old Andromeda Pizzaro of Alger, Washington was traveling Southbound I-5 in a white 1999 Dodge Durango. Troopers say Pizzaro attempted to merge from Lane three into lane two and swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle when she lost control of her vehicle, overcorrected and struck the barrier before her vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to rest in the median. Pizzaro was injured in the crash and transported to Providence hospital for treatment. A passenger identified by Troopers as 16-year old Marcus Kenny of Alger was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene from his injuries.
Troopers say five additional passengers in her vehicle were also injured. They include 31-year old Billy Fry of Bellingham, 2-year old Kailani Kenny of Alger, 2-year old Lorraine Kenny of Alger, 2-year old Thalia Kenny of Alger and 3-year old Mason Kenny of Alger. All five passengers were injured and transported to Providence Hospital for treatment.
Troopers say Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash. The cause of the crash is listed as “Overcorrection.”
The Dodge Durango was totaled and impounded to Dick’s Towing in Stanwood.
