Island County Coroner’s Office Seeks Information to Help Identify Deceased Person

Body Recovered

Island County, WA – On Tuesday evening October 20, 2020, a kayaker contacted the Island County Sheriff’s Office to report a body drifting in the water off Madrona Beach on Camano Island.  Sheriff’s Deputies and the Island County Coroner’s Office recovered the remains from the water.  The Island County Coroner’s Office is now asking the public for assistance in identifying the unidentified deceased person.

The man is described as an adult male, 5 foot, 8 inches, 151 pounds with dark hair and a beard.  The Coroner’s Office said the remains  appear to have possibly  been in the water for an extended period of time.  When the remains were found, there were no clothes on the man.  This  is common for someone who is found deceased in a body of water for a period of time.

The Coroner’s Office has confirmed that this person is not Sean Pickering or Walter Mead who went missing from Jefferson County on October 9, 2020.
