This Monday, May 10th, will mark NBC’s The Voice Season 20’s first live episode; we will finally learn who is the winner of the Four-Way Knockout between Stanwood’s Savanna Woods vs Emma Caroline Warren, Devan Blake Jones and Carolina Rial.
In a competition dominated by R&B and Country genre’s, Savanna Woods’ renditions of Classic Rock songs brings a much needed and satisfying reprieve.
Savanna breezed through the blind audition, singing “Zombie” by The Cranberries. She then moved on to the Battle Round, singing Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” with fellow contestant Corey Ward. Although she did not win the battle, she was saved by team Kelly’s fill in, Kelsea Ballerini. This save lead to a Four-Way Knockout between Savanna and the aforementioned contestants. While the other contestants did beautiful versions of their songs, it was no match for Savanna’s fiercely explosive and powerful interpretation of “Black Hole Sun” by Seattle’s own Soundgarden. Mentor Snoop Dogg said “I thought I was watching the end of a Spider Man movie. Like big. Like motion picture, like soundtrack”. And that’s a gigantic statement coming from someone as iconic as Snoop Dogg.
The winner will be announced at the beginning of the episode on Monday (8:00pm Pacific Time). If Savanna makes it through, she will be singing live and will need our votes to make it through to the next round.
