Sedro-Woolley, WA – On January 27th, 2022, around 10:24 a.m., Sedro-Woolley Officers were dispatched to a burglary at a storage unit facility in the 1300 block of East Moore Street just outside of town.
A suspect had entered the property after hours and broke into a skid steer loader which was on the grounds for the past snow removal. The suspect used the skid steer to damage dozens of doors and multiple buildings. The suspect then entered dozens of storage units. The estimate of the damage done is in excess of $200,000. Officers were given surveillance footage of the incident.
Last night at about 22:32, Sedro-Woolley Officers were dispatched to a domestic incident on Marshall Street. Officers arrived and contacted the parties involved who were in a dating relationship. The suspect had assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her by her neck, causing injury and interrupting her breathing.
The female was able to break away from the boyfriend and get into her residence. The boyfriend followed and then attempted to break down the front door while making comments about burning down her house. Sedro Woolley Officers contacted the male still outside the now severely damaged front door.
During the investigation, officers noticed the clothes that the male was wearing. The clothes the male was wearing, from head to toe, were the same seen in the surveillance footage of the prior burglary. The male also accidentally provided incriminating statements about the prior burglary of the storage units.
The male was booked into the Skagit County Community Justice Center on an INVESTIGATIVE HOLD for Assault 2nd, Domestic Violence, Residential Burglary Domestic Violence, Harassment, Malicious Mischief 3rd Domestic Violence, Assault 4th Degree. Additional Charges are pending for the damage to the Storage Facility.
