King County Sheriff’s Deputy Injured in Crash on SR2 Involving Impaired Arlington Woman

Snohomish County, WA– The Washington State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle, head-on crash around 10:00 p.m. on August 24th 2022 on Eastbound State Route 2 near milepost 19 in Snohomish County.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 21-year-old Faegoni V. Eylander of Arlington, Washington, was allegedly traveling Westbound on State Route 2 in a 2020 Nissan Altima while driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers say her vehicle crossed the center line near milepost 19 and struck a 2020 Chevy Tahoe head-on. The Tahoe was a fully marked King County Sheriff Patrol Vehicle being driven by 46-Year old King County Sheriff’s Deputy Woody Heath of Seattle, Washington.  Both drivers were wearing seatbelts according to the press memo and both were injured and transported to Evergreen Hospital in Monroe, Washington for treatment.

Troopers say the Sheriff’s Deputy sustained a serious hand injury in the crash among other injuries. The causing driver, Faegoni Eylander of Arlington was taken into custody for Allegedly Driving Under the Influence, according to Trooper Jacob Kennett with the Washington State Highway Patrol.
