SKAGIT COUNTY – The Board of County Commissioners will hold a meeting on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 2 p.m. to discuss the impact of a state Department of Revenue property tax advisory which stated property improvements on land held in trust are not subject to state or local property taxation, regardless of ownership.
At the meeting in the Commissioners Hearing Room, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, counsel will provide a synopsis of the issues. Representatives from the La Conner School District, La Conner Library District, Port of Anacortes, and Fire District No. 13 have been invited to take part in the discussion.
The Commissioners will also invite comments from the public at the meeting. Written comments will be accepted until Friday, September 5, at 4:30 p.m. They may be emailed to: commissioners@co.skagit.wa.us or sent to:
