Local Crime NewsClear Lake, Washington:  On the  morning of March 26th,2015  a volunteer with the Clear Lake Food Bank reported that someone had broken into their shed and stolen items in the early morning hours.

Video surveillance obtained by officers clearly depicted a male and female spending about ten minutes  prying open a shed door.   Once opened,  the two entered the storage shed and a few minutes later exited the shed with bags of stolen  items that they obviously did not have when they entered the shed.

Officers reviewing the video recognized  two subjects known to him on sight due to multiple prior contacts.

On March 27th, both subjects were contacted on Jackson Street in Clear Lake, near the Clear Lake Fire Station. Brian Mansbridge,  a local transients was taken into custody.  Mr. Mansbridge had a local misdemeanor warrant and officers found what they believe to be methamphetamine and a drug kit in a backpack he was carrying. He admitted to the burglary of the food bank.

Irina Bergdahl, also a local transient,  was contacted and  taken into custody. She was carrying a blue Mariners hooded sweatshirt which she was wearing during the burglary.   While searching her belongings, she spontaneously stated “OK, we did it.”

Both are facing charges of 2nd Degree Burglary, 3rd degree theft with an additional charge of possession of methamphetamine for Mr. Mansbridge.

A full list of items stolen  was not available,  but a partial list was ice cream, frozen hamburger meat and other food items.

A volunteer with the Clear Lake Food Bank said they would have gladly provided the two  with a food basket and assistance on local resources,  had they asked for help. “It’s what we are here  for.” stated the volunteer.
