Lynden, Washington: Transportation authorities are searching for a missing white and red Beech 35 aircraft. The small private plane was en route to Lynden Washington from Kalispell, Montana and was scheduled to arrive on Saturday night, July 11th, but never made it.
We’ve spoke directly to David Veatch, the father of the 16 year old girl on the missing flight. He says his daughter, Autumn Veatch was on the missing flight and returning to Lynden after visiting her mother, Misty Bowman in Kalispell, Montana. Mr Veatch, said the pilot is Misty Bowmans’ new husbands in laws. He identified the pilot as Lee Bowman and his wife Sharon Bowman of Montana.
The search is centered south of Mount Baker along the intended flight path. Authorities were able to trace the last cell phone signal of one of the occupants to an area near Omak around 11 pm on Saturday night.
Volunteers from the Civil Air Patrol and Washington Air Search and Rescue are assisting WSDOT Aviation Emergency Services with the search.
The plane is said to have the owner/pilot and two of his family members on board. The three have not been identified.
An incident command has been set up in Bellingham, near the airport.
According to www.AviationDB.com, the aircraft is a 4 seat- 1949, Fixed Wing, Single Engine Beech A35 . It shows an Airworthiness Date of 07/28/1971.
