Marysville, WA: Brazen thieves stole a U.S. Bank ATM from the lobby of the Marysville Fred Meyer around 10:00 am on July 13th, 2015.
According to an eyewitness, who asked that he not be identified, three men in a stolen red Ford Ranger Pickup arrived at the store just before 10:00 am. After walking up to the ATM, the thieves cut the wires to it. Customers in the area, thought they were ATM repair men. The witness, said the three men then used a dolly to quickly roll the ATM to the stolen truck. The witness said they threw the ATM in the truck and sped off at a high rate of speed.
According to Robb Lamoureux, a Police Spokesman, the Red Ford Ranger had been stolen from Arlington and was later found in North Marysville, but the ATM was gone.
Peggy Rhodes and her step son were on McGovern Road, also known as Fish Hatchery Road near OSO, when they saw two guys jump out of a truck in front of them and the guys jumped into a waiting car and took off at a high rate of speed. Peggy thought it was very strange because the truck headlights were still on, so they went to investigate. They found the truck abandoned with a cut up ATM in the back and they immediately notified Law Enforcement.
Police responded and found the cut up ATM. Any money that had been in the ATM was gone. Police later identified the ATM as the one stolen from the lobby of the Marysville Fred Meyer. Police also learned the truck had previously been reported stolen as well.
Police are waiting for the Marysville Fred Meyer to release surveillance photos and video of the suspected ATM thieves.
We will update this story as additional information becomes available.
