Burlington, WA: The Burlington Branch of the NW Plus Credit Union is holding a Food Drive to support our local food bank. Here is their press memo below:
“Hunger doesn’t take a vacation, and neither are we! Throughout the month of August, we will be accepting food and cash donations for local food banks. To donate, just bring food to your local branch and we will make sure the food is delivered to your local food bank. If you forget food, don’t worry- cash works just as well! Any amount works, you can even round down your paycheck each payday! What does round down mean? If your paycheck is 1018.25, you can deposit 1000.00 into your account and put the 18.25 into the food bank fund. Or, you can even deposit 1018.00 into your account and donate the .25 cents. But what can .25 cents do you ask? Well, just imagine if we had 1000 members donate .25 cents, that would mean we could give the food bank $250.00! Now that .25 cents doesn’t seem so little!”
The local food banks they are helping are as follows:
- Volunteers of American Food Bank – Everett WA
- Lynnwood Food Bank
- Lake Stevens Food Bank
- Marysville Food Bank
- Arlington Food Bank
- Stanwood/Camano Island Food Bank
- Helping Hands Food Bank- Burlington, WA Location
Don’t delay- donate today!
You can drop of canned food or make a cast donation at their branch located at 115 Cedar St, Burlington, WA (360) 755-9511.
