Mount Vernon, Washington- A 25 Year old Mount Vernon Man has been accused of Raping a 19 year old woman at a party in Mount Vernon after supplying her with alcohol and anxiety medications.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by SkagitBreaking.com, the woman and a friend attended a party in Mount Vernon.  The woman admitted to drinking some alcohol and taking a 1/4 pill of Xanax and the woman told detectives that she became very sleepy and was helped to a friends  bed to sleep.

The woman told Detectives that she woke up in the middle of the night to a male, sexually assaulting her in a different bed then the one she had went to sleep in.  She told detectives that  she did not give consent to the man, as she was passed out.

Detectives served a search warrant at the man’s house on February 28th, 2016.  The man was taken into custody at that time. A friend of the man that was in the house during the search warrant told detectives that “if someone was laying in your bed that was “consent enough.”

A 16 year old female who also attended the party was present during the execution of the search warrant. She told detectives that her friends had left her behind and she had  went upstairs and slept on a couch.  She said she was awoke very early in the morning by male voices downstairs that were saying something about a girl being drunk and “wanting it.”

The suspect was booked into the Skagit County Jail for Investigation of RAPE in the 2nd Degree.  He has since been released pending his next court appearance.
