Nebraska Man Treated for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in Skagit County

Skagit County, Washington– A City Attorney for McCook Nebraska,  who was vacationing in Washington State,  Credits Infectious Disease Staff at Skagit Valley Hospital with saving his life.

Dr. Bhupinder Walia and Dr. Mark Wallace at the Skagit Valley Hospital were credited in a news story in the McCook Gazette as being the doctors who recognized McCook Nebraska City Attorney Nate Mustion had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

The man’s wife Amanda, told Doctors  that he had received a tick bite while hiking. According to the McCook Gazette story, there are only two medications that can cure the disease.

The last time Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is reported to have been documented in this part of the United States was over 30 years ago.
