Sedro Woolley Man Arrested for Weapons Violations

Sedro Woolley, Washington– The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9000 block of Fruitdale Road for a domestic abuse complaint on June 5th, 2016.

An occupant of the home told police that a male in the residence was a  convicted felon and had assaulted her and threatened her with a gun.  The victim also told deputies that she  had hid in a bathroom and the male had started destroying things in the bathroom prior to her escaping and calling police.

Officers contacted Gilbert Flores at the residence and confirmed he was a convicted felon stemming from an armed robbery in 1977 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and  he also had a conviction for conspiracy to possess, manufacture and deliver narcotics in 2001. Mr. Gilbert was not legally allowed to own a firearm.

Deputies applied for and received a search warrant for the residence where they found nine (9) firearms within the residence. These included a Marlin .22 caliber Rifle, a Remington .22 caliber rifle, a Herrington & Richardson .22 caliber rifle, a Thompson Pistol, a Ruger Redhawk 44 mag pistol, a KBI PJK9HP 9mm pistol,  an H&R Gardner .22 cal pistol, a Ruger 10/22 rifle and a Remington 700 Rifle.  The serial number on at least one of the firearms had been altered or defaced.

Deputies arrested Mr. Flores for 1 count of Assault 4 Domestic Violence, nine counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and 1 count of obscuring the identity of a machine.

Mr. Flores has since been released from the Skagit County Jail.
