King County, Washington– The Washington State Patrol Responded to a serious injury crash on Eastbound State Route 18, West of I-90 on September 9th, 2016 around 9:59am.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, Jaxob McKinney 30 of Maple Valley was traveling Eastbound on State Route 18 in a red 2013 F150 truck when he slowed for traffic ahead of him.

45-year old Michael Johnson of Renton was traveling Eastbound SR18 behind Mr. McKinney in a 2017 Peterbuilt Semi-Truck and slammed into the back of Mr. McKinneys truck. The force of the impact pushed the truck into the Westbound Lanes where it was hit by another Red F150 Pickup being driven by 73-year old James Bussey of Puyallup.

Mr. McKinneys Truck came to rest in the Eastbound Ditch and the Semi came to rest in the Westbound Ditch. Mr. Bussey truck came to rest in the Westbound Lane of SR18. Mr. Bussey was transported to Harborview Medical Center and both other drivers were transporeted to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue with injuries.

The Semi truck was impounded and towed by West and Sons towing for safe keeping. Both Trucks were impounded and towed by Todd’s Towing for Safe keeping.
All three occupants were reported to be wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and charges are pending. The Roadway was blocked for 4 hours and 20 minutes.
