Bellingham Woman Dies in Early Morning Crash on SR20

Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatality crash on Westbound State Route 20 near milepost 54 around 6:18 am this morning.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 52-year old Sheereen “Sherrie” Sadighi of Bellingham was traveling Westbound on State Route 20 in a silver 2004 Toyota Truck when her vehicle drove off the roadway to the north and rolled into a ditch with approximately three feet of water in it. The truck came to rest upside down in the ditch.

The woman died at the scene and her next of Kin was notified by the Lynden Police Department.

The weather conditions were extremely icy in the area but it is unknown if the weather conditions contributed to the crash.

The press memo states drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash and the woman was wearing a seat belt.

Peters Towing impounded the vehicle for safe keeping.
