WSU Student from Snohomish County Dies in Crash

Adams County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a two-car fatality crash on East State Route 26 in Adams County around 4:31 p.m. on January 8th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 20-year old Rachel Pomeroy of Snohomish County was traveling Eastbound State Route 26 near milepost 69 in a bronze 2003 Acura when her vehicle collided head-on with a white 2016 Ford Explorer driven by 60-year old Donald Graham of Bothell.

Mr. Graham was not injured in the crash.  Rachel Pomeroy died as a result of her injuries sustained in the crash.

Troopers says Rachel  was a 2014 Monroe High School Graduate and a current student at Washington State University. She was headed back to College for the Spring Quarter.

Rachel was one of two WSU students to die in separate  car accidents  this weekend.  Nineteen-year-old WSU Student Dashiell Mortell of Bainbridge Island died Saturday around 2 pm in a separate crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Charges are not pending in the crash.
