Snohomish Woman Injured in Crash on I-5

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State responded to a two vehicle crash on Southbound I-5 just North of the Snohomish River around 7:04 pm  on February 10th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 21-year old Kara Burgess of Snohomish was traveling Southbound I-5 in a green 2003 Subaru Legacy when she lost control of her vehicle. The press memo states she traveled across all three lanes of traffic and was struck by a 2016 Peterbuilt Box Truck being driven by 48-year old Bruce Runyan of Ferndale.

Kara Burgess  was injured and transported to Providence Hospital for treatment. Mr. Runyan was not injured.

Dicks Towing towed the Peter built Box Truck and DTI Towing impounded the Subaru for safe keeping.

The press memo states Kara Burgess was not wearing a seat belt but drugs or alcohol was not suspected in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending against the causing driver.
