Arlington Man Charged With Vehicular Assault in Conway Crash

Conway, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a three vehicle crash on Northbound Interstate 5 around 4:21 p.m. near Conway on February 14th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 38-year old  Aric Thompson of Arlington was traveling NB on I-5 in a red 1994 Ford F-250 Pickup, approaching the construction zone at Milepost 219.

The press memo states Mr. Thompson attempted to pass a black 2011 Toyota Scion driven by 49-year old Lesa Kathleen Ofosu Antwi of Alberta by using the right shoulder when he struck the Scion.  The Scion then struck a black 2013 Kia Optima driven by 37-year old Juan Garduno-Ordonez of Mount Vernon.   The truck then continued into the construction zone and struck a concrete wall where it came to rest.

Mr. Thompson and a passenger in his truck, 35-year old Lindsay Thompson of Arlington were both injured and transported to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment.

Juan Garduno-Ordonez was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital for Treatment.  The driver of the Scion was not injured.

The Cause of the crash is listed as Driving Under the Influence and Mr. Thompson was booked into the Skagit County Jail for Suspicion of Vehicular Assault.
