Motorist Escapes Death in Adams County Road Wash Out

Adams County, WA – The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has shared photos of an incident involving a vehicle falling into a washed out section of Lind Warden Road.

According to a Facebook Post from Adams County Sheriff Wagner, this morning a  motorist driving  in Adams County found himself and his 2000 Chevy Blazer at the bottom of a 15-foot drop off into a washed out section of  Lind Warden Road.

The vehicle quickly became submerged in the muddy water after falling about 15 feet into the wash out. The driver was quickly able to free himself from the submerged vehicle and climbed out of the washed out section of the roadway. He was able flag over other vehicles driving in the area to warn them about the roadway being washed out.

Adams County Road Crews have blocked the Lind Warden Highway at Roxboro Road on the West side of the Wash out and at Highway 21 on the East side of the wash out.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has said no through traffic will be allowed through the barricades due to the hazardous nature of the wash out, no exceptions. Violators will be cited.
