Bellevue Man Dies in Crash on I-5 North of Everett

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury crash on Northbound I-5 near Mile Post 196, 1 mile North of Everett on February 16th, 2017.

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 26-year old Tyler Barton of Bellevue, WA was traveling at a hi-rate of speed on the  left shoulder of the freeway   in a gray 2010 Honda Civic.  The press memo states he attempted to move from the Left shoulder to lane two where he rear ended a 1998 Peterbuilt Tractor and Trailer being driven by a 42-year old Mount Vernon man.

The press memo states Mr. Barton was not wearing a seat belt and was seriously injured. He was transported to Providence Hospital where he died the following evening from his injuries.

The cause of the crash is listed as Speed.

No charges are expected.
