Lynden Man Dies After Falling From Freeway Overpass

Bellingham, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal incident on Northbound I-5 near mile post 270 in Whatcom County.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 81-year old Harvey Ben Sobel of Lynden was on Birch Bay Lynden Road over Northbound I-5 when he fell from the overpass and landed on the right shoulder of Northbound I-5.

Mr. Sobel was pronounced dead at the scene.  Next of Kin was notified by a Whatcom County Support Officer.

Heston Hauling impounded a grey 2000 Hyundai Accent that was at the scene.
