Darrington, WA –  The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says volunteers from the Snohomish County Search and Rescue team and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit responded to a 9-1-1 call from the hiking partner of a 22-year old woman who had fallen during a climb at Exfoliation Dome near Darrington on July 2nd, 2017.

The fallen climbers partner had hiked back out far enough to obtain cell service after the woman fell approximately 100-200 feet into a ravine.   The woman who fell was wearing a helmet but had hit numerous rocks during her fall. She also suffered a broken hand, dizziness and nausea after the fall.

Sno-Hawk 10 was able to rescue the injured woman just prior to darkness and airlifted her to Twin Rivers County Park, where an aid crew was waiting to transport her to the hospital for further medical treatment.
