Video: Navy SAR Crew Rescues 3 From Nooksack River

Whatcom County, WA– Rescue Crews from several Whatcom County Fire Districts responded to reports of inner-tubers on the Nooksack River who had fallen into the water and were in distress around 6;30 p.m. on July 25th, 2017.

Video below posted on Facebook from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office  shows the U.S. Navy Search and Rescue Helicopter  Crew pulling  three of the  inner-tubers from the Nooksack River.

The Bellingham Herald reports initially three inner-tubers were in distress and a second group stopped to help the first group.  All  five people were in the water at one point, including four  adults and one ten-year old child. Two of the adults managed to get out of the water and onto a sandbar.
