Two Injured After Impaired Driver Crashes Into Motorhome

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a three vehicle crash on Northbound I-5 near milepost 179 around 9:39 p.m. on August 22nd, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 32-year old Joseph Elliot of Everett was traveling Northbound I-5 at a high rate of speed in a red  2008 Dodge Avenger when his vehicle drifted to the right shoulder and struck a 23-foot 1973 GMC Motorhome that was disabled on the shoulder.   The driver of the motorhome, 56-year old David Liddell of Lynnwood was not injured in the crash. A passenger in the motorhome, 58-year old Beverly Liddell of Lynnwood was injured and transported to Swedish Edmonds Hospital for treatment. A third vehicle, a grey 2008 Toyota Highlander driven by 42-year old Shawn Bowman of Shoreline struck debris from the crash. The driver was not injured.

The causing driver, Joseph Elliot was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He is facing charges of Driving under the influence.  The cause of the crash is listed as Driving under the influence and speed.
