Mount Vernon Police Seek Witnesses To Shooting

Mount Vernon, WA – Officers from the Mount Vernon Police Department responded to the 100 block of S. 24th Street for a report of a shooting around 8:09 p.m. on August 24th, 2017.

During the course of the investigation, Officers learned that two vehicles had pulled onto S. 24th Street, stopped next to each other and engaged in a shooting.

The involved vehicles were described as a large dark sedan and a dark green 4-door Honda type vehicle.   Witnesses believed shots were coming from the vehicles and witnesses reported the two vehicles left at a high rate of speed.

No one was injured in the shooting, however at least one bullet hole was found in a car parked near where it occurred.

Investigators are working leads and Mount Vernon Officers ask that if anyone has information on the incident to please call  (360) 428-3211.
