Sedro Woolley Woman Killed In Crash On SR20 In Burlington

Burlington, WA – According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, there was a three-car motor vehicle collision on 12/18/17 at about 1:40PM. The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 20 and Pulver Road in Burlington.

The memo stated that the first vehicle, driven by 49-year-old Nena Rosalie Ortiz of Sedro Woolley, was Northbound on Pulver Road, approaching the intersection with State Route 20. The second vehicle was traveling Eastbound on State Route 20. The first vehicle failed to stop at the red light and continued Northbound through through the intersection. The first vehicle then struck the second vehicle, and a third vehicle, which was traveling Westbound on State Route 20, struck the first vehicle in the Westbound lanes. All three vehicles were impounded by Carls Towing.

The driver of the first vehicle, Nena Ortiz, was declared deceased. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured.

The cause of the collision is listed as “Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device.”

There are no charges pending.
