Skagit County, WA – The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a weapons offense with shots fired in the 41000 block of Cape Horn Drive at 8:27 p.m. on December 18th, 2017.
Detectives say the incident appears to be a murder-suicide. A female was found deceased inside the residence with a gunshot wound and a male was found deceased in the driveway with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A neighbor, David Tuttle said in a Facebook group post that the male suspect shot the female victim after telling four kids in the residence to “run”. Several of the kids, aged 11, 10, 7 and 3 ran next door to the neighbor’s house and after the male suspect shot their mother, he walked outside and shot himself in the driveway.
The Sheriff’s Office did not release information on the identity of the female victim or the children involved, although neighbors have released that information on social media. SkagitBreaking.com has chosen not to release the identity of the victim until official identification and cause of death is released by the Skagit County Coroners Office.
The investigation into the murder is ongoing.
