Man Dies After Being Struck By Everett Transit Bus

Everett, WA – Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit of the Everett Police Department are investigating a fatal collision that killed one man in Everett on Friday, March 16, 2018.

Everett Police were dispatched to the 8100 block of Broadway Avenue at about 10:00 PM, after receiving reports that a man had been struck by an Everett Transit Bus. Arriving units performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial video surveillance indicates that the man exited a black 4-door sedan that had stopped alongside the road. As the man attempted to re-enter the vehicle, it drove off and knocked him into the roadway and into the path of a Everett Transit bus. The sedan continued on Broadway Avenue, and then left the area.

Detectives located the sedan in Mukilteo, where they interviewed a female driver. They are working to clarify why the sedan stopped alongside the road, and then drove off and left the scene.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the deceased man, as well as to determine the official cause and manner of death.
