Marysville, WA – According to information released by the Marysville Police Department, a suspect was arrested after he reportedly threw rocks at a passing semi-truck on Interstate 5.
On Friday, April 6, 2018 at about 2:40PM, officers with multiple local agencies responded to reports of a man throwing rocks at passing vehicles. The suspect threw rocks, striking a passing semi-truck, and then ran across three Southbound I-5 lanes. He also pulled a knife on the pursuing officer. Marysville K-9 “Steele” and his human partner worked together to catch the suspect.
I-5 was shut down in both directions for a short time while the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect has since been booked into the Snohomish County Jail on charges of felony assault, malicious mischief, and a gross misdemeanor of reckless endangerment.
The Marysville Police Department thanked the Washington State Patrol and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office for their help, noting that it was a team effort. The Marysville PD also apologized to commuters for the traffic delays they may have experienced, but thanked them for their patience.
