Sedro Woolley Woman Injured in Crash on Lummi Shore Road Near Bellingham

Bellingham, WA – According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, troopers responded to the scene of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident near the 3700 Block of Lummi Shore Road, which is about 9 miles NW of Bellingham. The accident occurred at about 12:38 AM today (Sunday, April 24, 2018).

Martina C. Mott, 47, of Sedro Woolley was walking northbound on Lummi Shore Road, approaching Scott Road. A vehicle struck the pedestrian with its right front corner. The pedestrian came to rest on the eastbound shoulder of Lummi Shore Road. The pedestrian was injured in the accident and was later transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her current condition is unknown.

The vehicle, a Silver 1998 Dodge Dakota Pickup, was driven by Samantha J. Jefferson, 33, of Bellingham. Neither the driver, nor the passenger, Joe D. Anthony, 37, of Burnt Church, BC, were injured in the collision. The vehicle was impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bullpen in Bellingham.

The cause of the accident is listed as “Driving Under The Influence”. Vehicular assault charges are pending in the case.

Jefferson was subsequently booked into the Whatcom County Jail, charged with 1 count of vehicular assault and 3rd degree driving while her license was suspended (DWLS) according to jail records.
