Two Injured in Burlington as Awning Collapses on Sidewalk

Burlington, WA- Firefighters and Medics from The City of Burlington Fire Department, Skagit County Fire District 6 and the City of Mount Vernon Fire Department responded with Paramedics  to the El Gitano Mexican Restaurant in the 600 block of East Fairhaven Avenue in Burlington for reports of a partial building collapse with injuries.

Arriving Rescue crews  found the large awning on the front of the building had fallen onto the sidewalk and injured two people.

Paramedics treated the injured subjects and the area was roped off by police and firefighters for repair.

The restaurant will remain open for business once the awning is removed and the  area is cleaned up.
