Whatcom County, WA – A 41-year old Camano Island man died after falling 80-100 feet off a cliff at Larrabee State Park while attempting to watch the sunset with his girlfriend on Saturday, July 28th, 2018.

The Bellingham Herald Reports, emergency personnel from the Bellingham Fire Department and  South Whatcom Fire Authority  responded to 245 Chuckanut Drive around 8:40 p.m. for reports of a man who had fallen in the area below the amphitheater. The man’s girlfriend was also injured in the incident, but it was unclear if she fell or was injured while trying to climb down to the man.  She was picked up from a beach by a Bellingham Fire Rescue Boat Marine 5 and transported to the hospital  with non life-threatening injuries.

The name of the man had not been released, while the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to notify next of kin.
