Deming Man Killed in Crash on Mount Baker Highway

Whatcom County, WA– The Washington State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Mount Baker Highway near Deming Road around 5:46 p.m. on September 2nd, 2019.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 47-year old Russell Hilton of Deming was traveling Westbound on the Mount Baker Highway in a Black Chevrolet R10 Pickup Truck when he crossed the centerline and struck a white 2017 Dodge Ram Pickup and Trailer being towed by 37-year old Juan Escamillabonola of Mount Vernon.   HILTON died as a result of the crash.

Escamillabonola and two passengers, 32-year old Rolando Ayon Ayon on Burlington and 33-year old Jose Godinez of Spring, Texas were not injured in the crash.

Both vehicles were totaled and impounded by Heston Towing.
