Update: Driver in Fatal Crash Near Blaine Identified

Whatcom County, WA – The Washington State Patrol has identified the woman killed in an early morning crash on November 14th, 2019 on Northbound I-5 near Milepost 276 in Blaine  as 38-year old Amber L. Levins of Delta, Colorado.  Next of Kin Notification was done by the Delta County Colorado Sheriff’s Office.

According to a previous press memo from the Washington State Patrol, a gray 2003 Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed on Northbound I-5 near D Street in Blaine when the driver failed to negotiate curves in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a cement barrier.   First responders attempted life saving efforts on the female driver but she died at the scene.

Trooper Heather Axtman said a dog was found deceased in the vehicle as well.

The cause of the crash was listed as “Speed Too Fast to Negotiate Curves”.

The vehicle was totaled and impounded by Heston Hauling for Safe Keeping.
