Firefighters Respond to High Risk Crash on Northbound I-5 in Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon, WA – Firefighters and Medics from the City of Mount Vernon Fire Department, and Skagit County Fire District 3  responded to a “High Risk” Motor Vehicle Crash on Northbound  Interstate 5 at Milepost 224 around 3:50 p.m. this afternoon.

According to Scanner Traffic Archives, the crash resulted in one “red” patient with entrapment.  Firefighters worked to free the occupant of the vehicle with extrication equipment, commonly known as the “jaws of life.”
