Mount Vernon Police Update from 4-4-2016:
On Friday, April 1, 2016, Mount Vernon Detectives located the Toyota Camry involved in the weapons offense (shots fired) on the Riverside bridge between Mount Vernon and Burlington. The Camry, Washington License AIU5547 was located at a residence in the 100 Block of Reed Street in Sedro Woolley. The vehicle was impounded and is being held at Mount Vernon Police Department awaiting processing. Detectives still need help locating the black BMW (pictured below) that was captured on the traffic cameras on the day of the incident. Investigators believe it is a 2006-2008 3series BMW with a sunroof. Bullet strike damage to the vehicle is possible.
Detectives continue to conduct interviews but no one is in custody at this time.

Mount Vernon, WA– Here is an updated Press release on the Weapons Offense, Shooting Incident on the Riverside Bridge from the Mount Vernon Police Department:
On Sunday, March 27th, 2016 at around 7:03pm, two vehicles were traveling Northbound over the Riverside Drive bridge into Burlington. Witnesses heard and observed what they believed to be shots fired between the two vehicles.
The first vehicle is depicted in the photo below taken from a traffic camera in Burlington. It appears to be a black BMW driven by a male with a red shirt or coat.

The second vehicle was a 1995 Toyota Camry gold/brown in color with a Washington License Plate AIV5547 and may be from the Snohomish County area. The driver/passenger in this vehicle were described as two Hispanic males who pulled bandanas up over their face as they drove by.

This is a similar 95′ Camry, not the involved Car.
No one was hurt in the shooting incident and no property damage was found by investigators. Several bullet casings were recovered from the roadway and they are being sent to the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab for examination.
