Mount Vernon, Washington– Emergency Crews from the McLean Road fire department as well as Mount Vernon Engine 112 responded with Medic 2, Medic 3, MS01, Airlift Northwest and the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office to a High Risk Crash on McLean Road at Bradshaw Road.
The Washington State Patrol Accident Investigation Team was requested by Deputies on Scene due to the nature of the injuries and seriousness of the crash scene and public works was requested to assist with traffic control.
According to audio archives obtained by Skagitbreaking.com from a creative common license provided by Broadcastify.com, a car was T-boned by a truck just after 1:30 pm at the intersection of McLean Road and Bradshaw Road.
Audio archives suggest there were at least five people injured in the crash, possibly up to 8 people in total. Several patients had to be extricated from the crash scene by firefighters using “extrication tools” commonly known as the Jaws of Life. Once the patients were safely extricated,
Medic 2 transported one patient to Skagit Valley Hospital “priority” to meet Airlift Northwest. Medic 3 transported two patients to Skagit with two additional family members on board. MS01 was called to the scene as a third medic unit to evaluate pediatric patients for injuries.
