King County, Washington:  The Washington State Patrol has announced that David A. Bauders, a Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper, died in a non-combat incident while serving with the Washington State National Guard 176th Engineer Company in Kuwait.  David deployed with the Army National Guard for a one year deployment in February 2016, as a 1st Lieutenant.‎

Trooper Bauders began his career with the WSP on June 10, 2013 as a Trooper Cadet in the Property and Management Division.  He graduated from the 102nd WSP Basic Training Academy Class and was commissioned on March 16, 2014.  He was immediately assigned to the North Seattle Freeway detachment in King County.

“Although early into his career with us, David was a very well-liked and highly respected member of the agency,” said WSP Chief John Batiste.  “Please keep David’s family, co-workers, and friends, along with our nation’s military personnel deployed overseas in your thoughts and prayers.”
