Would You Like to See an Improved Pressentin Park?

pressentin2

Would you like to see picnic facilities, bicycle camping sites or fishing access at Pressentin Park?

Share your feedback with Skagit County Parks and Recreation and the Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group (SFEG) at a public meeting July 27. The meeting is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Marblemount Community Hall, 60155 State Route 20.

The County and SFEG are collaborating on a project to improve infrastructure and restore fish habitat in Pressentin Park, an undeveloped County park in Marblemount. The proposed restoration project, funded by the Salmon Recovery Funding Board, will involve reconnection and habitat enhancement of a former channel that crosses the center of the park.

The County is currently working to secure funds to improve trails, install interpretive signs, and construct a salmon-viewing station.  Parking, picnic and primitive bicycle camping sites, fishing access and other amenities are other options the County is considering as part of the long-term planning process.

To learn more about the project, or for information on the public meeting, please contact Sue Madsen, SFEG Restoration Ecologist, at 360-336-0172 or smadsen@skagitfisheries.org.
