Concrete, WA – The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported robbery on January 12th, 2017 around 10:38 p.m. in the 7400 block of Dillard Avenue in Concrete.
The reporting party told dispatchers that there was a subject holding people at gunpoint down by the river on Baker Bar Road. The Reporting party stated there were five people with weapons and she had left the area.
According to a probable cause affidavit of arrest obtained by Skagitbreaking.com through a public disclosure request, the reporting party stated she was with two friends at a travel trailer in the gravel pit when a dark-colored BMW pulled up. She told deputies the driver stayed in the car but four subjects jumped out of the car trying to collect a $20.00 debt owed to one of them. One subject reportedly had a bat, and one subject had a gun in each hand, another had his face covered and a female who was known to the victim was there.
The reporting party took off running and one of the three males told a female that was with them, later identified as Darian Sather to chase after the reporting party. Darian was unable to catch the reporting party so Darian returned to the trailer and attempted to enter it. The four suspects were yelling that the victims needed to get out of the trailer because they were going to “take everything.” Several of them entered the trailer and started to take things. Darian Sather then allegedly tried to grab a backpack full of items and a fight ensued between Darian and a female inside the living room of the trailer. The driver of the car exited the vehicle at some point and told the four that they “needed to leave.” As the subjects left they grabbed a generator that was outside of the trailer that belonged to the person that owed them money.
During the course of the investigation deputies learned that the boyfriend of one of the females in the travel trailer owed one of the robbery suspects $20.00. Witnesses identified two of the male suspects involved as Isaac Stargel and Ricky Williams. Deputies also learned that Ricky Williams and Darian Sathers are in a dating relationship and were living in a motor home that was reportedly parked in the Burger King Parking Lot in Sedro-Woolley.
On January 25th, 2017, around 8:00 p.m., Deputies contacted the motor home that Ricky and Darian were reportedly staying inside of in the Food Pavilion Parking Lot in Sedro-Woolley. Deputies made an announcement over their PA system with their emergency lights activated for the occupants to exit the vehicle. Isaac Stargel exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.
Ricky Williams slammed the motor home door closed and led Deputies on a vehicle pursuit trying to elude Deputies with Darian Sather inside. The motor home was stopped using spike strips and both suspects were eventually taken into custody. Ricky Williams admitting to being the get away driver to Deputies but originally denied involvement in the Robbery in Concrete. Later he spoke to Deputies and admitted his involvement in the robbery and stated as well as the involvement of Darian and Isaac. He stated it was over drug money owed to him and said there were no guns involved but the situation escalated and “got out of hand.”
